The first thing that hits you about The Zanzibari is the tranquility. The hotel is small with just fifteen rooms but sits on a large plot so even when the hotel is full, it never feels that way with everyone having plenty of space to lie reading in hammocks, by the pool, on a sun lounger on the beach under the shade or walking around the gardens.

If you’re out for the day, it’s lovely to return to a place of calmness and beauty with a team who cannot do enough to make your stay even more special. It was our goal to show people Zanzibar and it’s culture through the hotel so a trip walking up to the local town of Nungwi with one of our managers is a lovely thing to do as he will show you behind the scenes into the lives of those who inhabit the island.

The hotel is well-known for its delicious 4 course evening meals making a half board stay extra special. Sip delicious cocktails before dinner in the fantastic Dhow bar built out of an actual sea-faring vessel. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm & friendly and a place where you can kick off your flip-flops and dine in bare feet should you wish.

With plenty of excursions on offer to suit all tastes from historical Stone Town tours to exotic spice tours to sunset dhow cruises and superb diving, you will never tire of this place.
